Greenhill Alumna Wins Prestigious Court Competition

Last month, Hayley Isenberg ’15 participated in Harvard Law School’s Ames Moot Court Competition, one of the most prestigious competitions for appellate brief writing and advocacy in the country. Hayley, a 3L at Harvard, and her team were named the 2023 best team.

Fifty-four teams began the competition over a year ago. After qualifying rounds and semi-final rounds, two teams were chosen to face off in the historic Ames Courtroom for the fictional case, United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration, et al. (OSHA) v. Federici Contracting, LLC. Hayley and her team represented the respondent, Federici Contracting, where Hayley was one of two oralists on her team.

The competition judges included Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, California Supreme Court Justice Goodwin Liu, and U.S. District Court Judge Rachel Kovner.

You can watch the Ames Court proceedings here, with Hayley’s argument beginning at approximately the 39-minute mark.
